Leisure and socio-cultural
animation (courses for monitors, managers and monograph studies)
The Escola de l'Esplai from the Pere Tarrés
Foundation, which offer all specialized training in the field of
leisure education and socio-cultural education is the oldest centre
in Spain, and its offer comprises courses for monitors of leisure
activities for children and adolescents.Its activities started in
1960, and by the end of the same decade, first courses for monitors
are offered. Since then, there has been a progressive increase of
the training activities until now that, every year, there are more
than 40 courses for monitors of leisure activities with more than
1000 participants. Since 1997/98 the training process for leisure
monitors and manager is as follows.

Course of Introduction
to Volunteer work
Definition: It is a training offer for anyone who can be interested
in volunteer work or starting a process
Conditions: from 16 years on
Study period: 12 hours

Curse for Monitors
Definition: Training action addressed to people who are already
working as leisure animators -summer holidays for childhood,
associative homes, schools,...- and who want to have a basic
and global training.
Conditions: from 18 years on
Study period: 100 hours of courses+practices+refort
Diploma of the Youth General Secretary (Generalitat de Catalunya)

Course for Managers
Definition: training action addressed to monitors who have experience
and interest in going deeply into the field of leisure education
or to people who are working in leisure education institutions
for childhood and adolescences
Conditions: Title of monitor required or having 23 years and
experience.
Study period: 90 hours of courses + practices + refort and work
Diploma of the Youth General Secretary (Generalitat de Catalunya)

Courses of specialization
for monitors
Definition: they are resources conceived in order to improve
the monitors' training. this course offers a specialization
in different areas and gives access to courses for Managers.
Conditions: from 18 years on
Study period: 80 hours
Specialization in different workshops and in the field of expressive
languages, first aid (title of lifeguard), nature, adolescence
and childhood. |
This training process is completed throughout the
Workshops of Leisure Techniques (5 hours workshops and techniques
that are very active, done during the weekend) and monograph studies
in the leisure area.
Monograph studies
Environmental Education
The Institute trains environmental educators for
more than 30 years. All through these years, training is become
more specialized according to the needs, as far as society was more
concerned with the environment and the environmental education.
Nowadays, we develop specific training programmes
with a professional aim, environmental educators are given a great
offer which is conceived in order to fulfil their training needs
.
The contents of this training include the environmental
pedagogy, ecology, interaction man-environment, work in different
fields (urban, rural, marine) equipments and resources of environmental
education, natural and cultural national heritage, astronomy, geology...
The basic training we offer is officially approved
by a Diploma of environmental Educator from the Catalan Institute
of New Professions of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
PEE (Programmes of Environmental Education-Modules)
The PEE are divided in 4 modules from a hole of 160 hours of courses
(16 credits):
Environmental pedagogy (40 hours)
Basic concepts of ecology (40 hours)
The human being and the environnement (40 hours)
Equipments and resources of Environmental Education (40 hours)
These 4 modules are completed with 50 hours of practices
